OBJECTIVE: Redesign a daily mundane home interaction in a whole new way.
ROLE: Concept Development, research & strategy, story-boarding, interaction design, visual design and prototyping
DURATION: 4 weeks
Motivated by my personal struggle with difficult and complicated tools to manage my financial wellbeing. According to Federal Reserve Statistics (July 2012), the average credit card debt per household in the US is a staggering $7149. If my phone can be smart, why not my wallet? So I designed a personal financial advisor on the go - an interaction that can boost financial health based on personalized goals every time a purchase is made.
The prototype concept shown here is a credit card like device called oneCARD which stores all your credit, debit and gift card information. It is protected by state-of-art P2P encryption technology already available. By setting personal or team goals, oneCARD helps manage and track financial health. It can alert and advise the best card to use at points of purchase based on your goals. And using NFC (Near field communication) technology, just bringing the device within proximity to other team members, instantly gives a visual update of team progress.
If a smart phone can point to the nearest gas station, a smart wallet can help get the most out of a purchase.
